SPIDER VEIN TREATMENTS BOUNTIFUL
What are Varicose and Spider Veins?
Varicose veins are large, raised, swollen blood vessels that twist and turn. They usually develop in the legs and can be seen through the skin. Spider veins are smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels that also twist and turn. Spider veins are easily visible through the skin as well. They are also most often seen on the legs and face.
- There are a number of factors that predispose a person to varicose veins and spider veins. These include:
- Occupations that involve a lot of standing, such as nurses, hair stylists, teachers, and factory workers
- Hormonal influences during pregnancy, puberty, and menopause
- The use of birth control pills.
- Postmenopausal hormonal replacement
- A history of blood clots
- Conditions that cause increased pressure in the abdomen including tumors, constipation, and externally worn garments like girdles
- Injury or Trauma
- Exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Varicose veins and spider veins develop more often in women than in men. They increase in frequency with age. An estimated 30% to 60% of adults have varicose veins or spider veins. Many patients with varicose veins complain of pain, described as an aching or cramping in the legs. Other common symptoms include tiredness, restlessness, burning, throbbing, tingling, or heaviness in the legs. Pain caused by varicose veins is usually relieved by elevating the legs or by wearing support hose. In women, symptoms may be worse during certain parts of the menstrual cycle or during pregnancy.
Wade Laser Clinic offers a couple of treatment methods to help you get rid of these aesthetically unappealing and annoying veins!
LASER VEIN THERAPY
Performed with the Syneron eLaser™ Get the clear skin and smooth legs you desire. Easily resolve vascular lesions in 1-3 treatments. Syneron Laser Vascular Treatment is simply safer and more effective because our systems require significantly less energy than conventional lasers and IPLs, and help you accomplish highly selective targeting.
The unique elos™ combination of light and radio frequency (RF) energies provides controlled selective thermolysis to vascular lesions including telangiectasias and leg veins up to 4mm in diameter. The applicator also includes built-in contact cooling which ensures additional epidermal protection and comfort for the patient. Bi-Polar RF is controllable and predictable. The Bi-Polar Radio Frequency of elos technology flows between the two electrodes of the application head, delivering maximum targeted energy to the treatment area.
So you think you’ll never comfortably wear shorts again because of those spider veins on your legs? Think again! Sclerotherapy can help you eliminate, collapse and shrink those unsightly veins and restore the appearance of your skin to its original state.
A lot of everyday factors contribute to the problem. Some of the common causes are occupational, like standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Other causes can include hormonal imbalance, side effect of medication, rapid weight gain, pregnancy, or simply heredity.
An extremely small needle is used to inject a solution into the affected vein, causing it to close down, gently dry up and eventually be absorbed by the body’s natural healing response (usually over 3-6 months). Sclerotherapy is very effective, inexpensive and less painful than many other vein treatments.
WHAT IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE TREATMENT OF SPIDER VEINS?
Although both treatments have shown results and we offer both treatments, we at Wade Laser Clinic have seen the best results with the use of Sclerotherapy. The effects last a lot longer and we have been given feedback of overall better customer satisfaction.
